Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week which
runs from May 16 to 22.
All across the country, hospitals and
agencies are celebrating this year's theme,
"Anytime. Anywhere. We'll be there."
EMS teams are highly trained emergency care
providers and often the first responders to
the ill and injured patients in and around
Granville County.

potential of H1N1 virus cases multiplying

said they are ready to treat anyone who does
contract the virus, or the seasonal flu, and

GHS Employees Raise More Than $27,000
to “Pave the Way” in Support of
Community Health
OXFORD,
NC (October 9, 2009) – Granville
Health System (GHS) announced the
organization’s employees raised more
than $27,000 through the “Paving the
Way” employee giving campaign. The
funds raised will benefit the
Granville Health System Foundation
and a portion of the money will be
used to construct a brick walkway
leading to the entrance of the new
Granville Medical Center Emergency
Department. GHS employees had
exceeded the initial campaign goal
of $5,000 within 5 days of the
30-day program.

(July 30, 2009) – Granville Health
System (GHS) announced the organization has
signed on as a corporate sponsor of the 2009
Granville County Habitat for Humanity home,
being built near downtown Oxford later this
year.
Granville County HFH is a locally run
affiliate of Habitat for Humanity
International, a nonprofit, ecumenical
Christian housing organization. Habitat for
Humanity works in partnership with people in
need to build and renovate decent,
affordable housing. The houses then are sold
to those in need at no profit and with no
interest charged.

surgeon Ralph Liebelt, M.D. recently
performed the first procedure in the state
to treat leg pain and numbness caused by
lumbar spinal stenosis using the Superion™
Interspinous Spacer (ISS) from Vertiflex
Inc. The procedure was performed at
Granville Medical Center.

to August 14. The campaign,
