We
are extremely proud of our corp of volunteers at

provides many needed essential services to assist
our staff, patients, participants, residents and

the Granville Health System. All volunteers receive
a general hospital orientation which includes

Pastoral Care
Program
The Pastoral Care Program
Chaplains provide support to patients, participants,
residents, family members, visitors and staff at
Granville Health System. Chaplains are available on
a daily basis to give their spiritual support to
those who might have a need. Granville Health System
Chaplains are trained to provide support in times of
grief, trauma and crisis. They are there to listen
when one has a need to vent and are trained to
provide confidential and non–judgmental support.
Chaplains provide a gentle calm atmosphere while
providing comfort to the patient and their loved
ones. The Pastoral Care program is looking for
volunteer chaplains ordained through their church or
church affiliation to join this important support
service. If you meet the criteria for this calling,
we welcome your commitment to this program.
Teen Volunteer
Team
During the summer months and
throughout the school year, Granville Health System
offers a variety of opportunities for teens, 14-19
years of age. This environment is a wonderful
opportunity for students to interact with health
care and business professionals in a medical
setting.
Granville Health System offers
each year a Student Summer Intensive Program. The
Student Summer Intensive Program offers students
interested in health related careers or students
wanting to learn business skills, an opportunity to
be a part of a multi-faceted health care team during
their summer break. The summer intensive requires a
commitment of a minimum of 4 hours per day and 12
hours per week from the student to best benefit from
their learning experience. Applications for the
Summer Intensive Program are accepted the first of
April of each year through the fifteenth
of May each year. Positions are limited and based
upon completion of an application and initial
interview.
The Candy Striper Program
offers a mature and motivated student a chance to
assist others and the hospital year round through a
variety of assignments. These teens can choose from
several different service positions after school, in
the evenings or on the weekends. Being a Candy
Striper requires a two hour or more time commitment
on a regularly scheduled basis. This time is based
upon the student’s school schedule and the needs of
the assigned area.
Students interested in either
of these volunteer experiences need to complete the
teen application and meet with the Volunteer
Services Coordinator and the assigned area
supervisor for an interview prior to their
assignment.
